PDOP operating values should remain BELOW 3.5 DURING ALL AUTOTRAC OPERATIONS, especially RTK high precision operations. As the value of PDOP rises above 3.5, position accuracy will be compromised. As a rule, when the GPS receiver is warming up from being in a powered off state and gathering satellite |
signals high PDOP values (4 to 20+) will be experienced for upwards of 15 minutes (under normal conditions).
It is important to monitor PDOP along with GPS signal quality while performing field operations. |
