NOTE: If 2-wire valve is required and not shown in the drop-down, number of implement sections must be adjusted in implement setup.

    (See Component Overview and Compatibility.)

  3. Select Constant Flow checkbox (B) to configure controller to operate a section valve with continuous bypass that returns flow to the tank when sections are off (see Sprayers and Liquid Fertilizer Tools Diagnostics section for calibrating section bypass valves).

  4. CAUTION: Selecting the wrong valve type can result in valves opening unexpectedly. To avoid injury from exposure to chemicals, verify the correct valve is selected. Review control valve type before moving GreenStar™ Rate Controller between implements.

  7. Select and enter Coil Frequency (E) for PWM and PWM Close valve. Coil Frequency defaults is 122.

(Refer to control valve manufacturer’s Operator’s Manual to attain proper coil frequency value.)

  8. Define PWM Limits to control minimum and maximum desired flow, or control pressure. This is to prevent machine damage, and ensure quick system response.

Define limits manually by entering high and low limits into input boxes (F and G). High and low limit ranges are 0–255.

Otherwise, select Calibrate PWM Limits (H), and follow onscreen steps to perform calibration procedure. Once calibration is completed, select Setup softkey to return to System Setup.

(Refer to Calibrate PWM Limits in Sprayer and Liquid Fertilizer Tools and Diagnostics for details on how to perform test.)

  9. Select Pump Enable (I) if there is no hardwired pump on-off switched installed. Enable Pump (J) overrides PWM signal to shut off pump when not selected.

NOTE: If there is no hardwired pump on-off switch installed, select Pump Enable.

    C - Calibrate Flowmeter Button

    D - Flow Return Checkbox

Enter Flowmeter Calibration number (A) as stamped on valve.

NOTE: Most flowmeters have an attached tag indicating recommended calibration number. Enter number as initial Flowmeter Calibration value.

  11. Choose unit of measurement from Flowmeter Units drop-down (B).

  12. Select Calibrate Flowmeter (C), and follow onscreen instructions (see Sprayers and Liquid Fertilizer Tool Diagnostics section).

Flow Return checkbox (D) is available for liquid systems equipped with a fixed displacement pump to allow product to return to tank when all sections are closed.

Once calibration is completed, select Setup softkey to return to System Setup.

    D - Agitator Valve Checkbox

    E - Agitator Duty Cycle Drop-down Menu

Select Pressure Sensor 1 (A) if sensor is installed. If using more than one pressure sensor, select Pressure Sensor 2 (B). If a pressure sensor is selected, pressure indicator displays on Menu instead of flow rate.

  14. Select Calibrate Pressure Sensor button (C) and follow the onscreen instructions.

Once calibration is completed, select Setup softkey to return to System Setup.

(Refer to Sprayers and Liquid Fertilizer Tool Diagnostics.)

  15. Select Agitator Valve (D) to enable agitator.

NOTE: Agitator valve selection affects number of sections available for 2-wire valves.

  16. Select agitator duty cycle percent from drop-down (E). Agitation Rate is based on run time 10 min. intervals. For example, 20% agitator runs for 2 min., and is off for 8 minutes.

If tank volume is at or below 20% of the total volume of the tank, agitation reduces to half the set run time. For example, at 20% setting from previous example, the agitation runs for 1 min., and is off for 9 minutes.
