Satellite Tracking Information
A - Satellites Tracked
B - Velocity Solution
C - Position Solution
D - Corrections Age (sec)
E - VDOP
F - HDOP
G - PDOP
Satellite Tracking information is displayed at bottom of Sky
Plot and Graph tabs.
-
Satellites Tracked (A)–Total number of satellites tracked
by receiver.
-
Velocity Solution (B)–Number of satellites available to
receiver that are above five degree elevation mask.
-
Position Solution (C)–Number of satellites used to compute
position.
Position Solution only uses high confidence data to calculate
receiver position. Velocity Solution uses data from as many satellites
as possible to calculate intermediate values based on previously calculated
position solution. As a result, Velocity Solution count usually displays
a higher number of satellites than Position Solution.
-
Corrections Age (D)–Age of differential correction signal
to receiver (normally less than 10 s).
-
VDOP (E)–Vertical dilution of precision
-
HDOP (F)–Horizontal dilution of precision
-
PDOP (G)–Positional dilution of precision
These three values are an indicator of satellite geometry as
viewed by receiver. A lower PDOP indicates better satellite geometry
for calculating both horizontal and vertical position.
