Adjust Dual Counterbalance Valve

NOTE: Flow rates between 11—30 L/min (3—8 gal/min) are recommended.

If hydraulic flow rate is adjusted, complete selective control valve (SCV) threshold calibration test.

A counterbalance valve controls a moving load and prevents load runaway. Controlling the load allows a smooth transition of implement movement. Dual counterbalance valve settings depend on hydraulic cylinder types and configuration.

Turn the valve cartridge clockwise to increase pressure.

Turn the valve cartridge counterclockwise to decrease pressure.

Implement S-ing

A - Slow S-ing

B - Aggressive S-ing

Operate system and monitor ground condition. If implement S-ing occurs, adjust counterbalance valve pressure.

  • If implement is slowly S-ing (A), pressure is too high. Turn the valve cartridge counterclockwise to decrease pressure.
  • If implement is aggressively S-ing (B), pressure is too low. Turn the valve cartridge clockwise to increasing pressure.
