Access Front of Tractor (Hood Guards with Latch Pins)

  1. CAUTION:

    A - Hood Guard

    B - Latch Pin, Rotating Type

    C - Latch Pin, Pull Type

    If unable to access front of tractor with loader attached, either remove loader or raise loader. If loader is raised for access, lock loader into position using shut off valve and support loader using floor stands or lifting straps or chains connected to an overhead hoist. (Refer to SERVICE LOADER AND/OR TRACTOR SAFELY [LOADER ATTACHED] at the beginning of this section.)

    Start tractor engine and raise boom.



  2. Roll bucket until front edge is facing ground.

  3. Lower boom to ground and shut off tractor engine.

  4. CAUTION: Weight of hood guard (A) can be as much as 38 kg (84 lb.). Use caution when handling hood guard as it can drop suddenly when lowered.

    NOTE: Depending on tractor, hood guard will have either a rotating-type (B) or pull-type (C) latch pin.

    Rotate or pull out and rotate latch pin (B or C) and slowly rotate guard (A) forward to access engine compartment.
