Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before connecting hydraulic or other lines. Protect hands and body from high-pressure fluids. See additional information, Avoid High-Pressure Fluids in Safety section.

Relieve hydraulic pressure. (See Relieve Hydraulic Pressure in Controls section.)

  2. IMPORTANT: Prevent possible machine damage. DO NOT use the removal tool (A) to pry the fittings apart.

NOTE: The hydraulic fittings located inside the booms and torque tube require a special tool (A) for removal. (See your John Deere dealer to obtain the removal tool.)

Release plug (D) from fitting (C), by inserting removal tool (A) between the collar of plug (D) and sleeve (B) on fitting (C).

  3. Replace O-rings and seals if needed. (See your John Deere dealer for replacement parts.)
