Prevent possible injury from an accidental lowering of the loader. DO NOT perform service around the front of the tractor with the loader elevated and unsupported. Before lubricating or servicing the loader or tractor, perform the following:
  1. Engage the park brake and place the transmission in PARK.
  2. Lower the loader to the ground.
  3. Shut off engine and remove ignition key.
  4. Relieve the hydraulic pressure. (See Relieve Hydraulic Pressure in Controls section.)

Normally, access to the engine compartment and front of the tractor can be made with the bucket flat on the ground. However, due to tractor size and tire variations, it can be necessary to do one of the following:

  • Dump the bucket fully and lower the loader to the ground.
  • Raise the loader to the required height and place safety stands under the loader boom arms. Lower the loader on safety stands and relieve the hydraulic pressure. Ensure that safety stands are supporting the weight of the loader.
