Access Front of Tractor (300R and 320R Loaders)

Prevent possible injury or death. If unable to access the front of the tractor with the loader attached, remove the loader or raise the loader and support with shop stands. (See Service Loader and/or Tractor Safely [Loader Attached] in this section.)

Hood guard does not fold down. The tractor hood can be raised with the hood guard in place.


4X00 and 4X10 Series Tractors

A - Spring Pin (1 each side)

  1. Remove spring pins (A) from pins in each side of the hood guard.

  2. Remove drilled pins and swing the hood guard down for access to the front of the tractor.


3X20 Series Tractors

A - Lever

B - Hood Guard

Turn the lever (A) and pivot the hood guard (B) forward to gain access to the front of the tractor.

C - Grille

D - Spring (1 each side)

  1. The procedure can be performed with or without the loader attached. Loader removed for clarity purposes.

    Remove cap screws and nuts (B) from the hood guard (A). Tilt the hood guard forward to access the front grille (C).

  2. To access or service the battery, pull out the grille and disconnect springs (D).

  1. The procedure can be performed with or without the loader attached. Loader removed for clarity purposes. To gain access to the front of the tractor, remove the hood guard entirely and remove the front grille.

    Remove cap screws and nuts (A) from the hood guard (B).

  2. To access the engine compartment, tilt the hood guard forward and raise the hood.
