Attach Loader to Tractor (440R Loader)

    Start the engine.



  2. Drive the tractor slowly toward the rear of the loader stopping approximately 250 mm (10 in) from the loader.

  3. Engage the park brake and place the transmission in PARK.

  4. Shut off engine and remove ignition key.

    Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin, causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Protect hands and body from high-pressure fluids. See additional information, Avoid High-Pressure Fluids, in Safety section.

    Relieve the hydraulic pressure. (See Relieve Hydraulic Pressure in Controls section.)

    A - Couplers

    Connect hydraulic hoses to couplers (A) on the tractor using color-coded caps on the hoses, matching numbers, and the colors on the decal by the coupler plate. (See Identify Hose Connections in Service section.)



  7. Start the engine.

  8. Raise the loader from the ground by extending lift cylinders. Parking stands contact the ground and extend rearward toward the tractor.

  9. Attach the loader to the tractor. (See Attach Loader in Attach Loader section.)
