Detach Loader (440R Loader)

    Prevent possible injury caused by a falling or shifting loader. Always detach the loader on a hard, level surface. DO NOT detach the loader if equipped with a pallet fork. Use of a materials bucket is recommended.

    Remove the ballast box. (See procedure in this section.)



  2. Ensure that the loader is equipped with a materials bucket.

  3. Start the engine.

  4. Release the park brake and place the transmission in NEUTRAL.

    A - Distance, 25—50 mm (1—2 in)

    Dump the bucket approximately 20° and lower the boom to the ground.



  6. Retract lift cylinders and raise the front wheels 25—50 mm (1—2 in) (A) off the ground.

    A - Latch (1 each side)

    Push upward on the handle to disengage the latch (A). Repeat on the opposite side.

    C - Parking Stand

    Extend lift cylinders until the parking stand (C) contacts the ground and the mast lifts off mounting frame pins (B).



  9. Retract bucket cylinders until latches (A) automatically return to the LOCKED (DOWN) position.

  10. Prevent possible injury from a latch closure. Make sure that latches are closed before leaving the loader unattended.

    Engage the park brake and place the transmission in PARK.

  11. Shut off engine and remove ignition key.

    Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin, causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Protect hands and body from high-pressure fluids. (See additional information, Avoid High-Pressure Fluids, in Safety section.)

    Relieve the hydraulic pressure. (See Relieve Hydraulic Pressure in Controls section.)

    If equipped with mid-mount couplers: Perform the following:

    1. Push back the collar (A) on the female coupler and pull out the male coupler (B).

    2. Install the dust plug (C) in the female coupler and cap (D) on the male coupler as shown.

    3. Repeat for the remaining couplers.

    If equipped with a multicoupler: Perform the following:

    1. Push in the red knob (E) and rotate the handle (A) upward to disengage pins (C) and coupler halves.

    2. Remove the loader coupler half (B) from the tractor coupler and place on the mast. DO NOT lay the hoses on the ground.

    3. Avoid damage from contact with the tractor fender or wheel. Handle (A) must be in the locked (DOWN) position. To protect connections, lower the cover (D).

      Rotate the handle (A) downward until locked in the DOWN position.

    4. Lower the cover (D).

    Avoid damaging the hoses. Make sure that the hoses DO NOT interfere with the tractor when backing away from the loader.

    Slowly back the tractor away from the loader.
