Attach Ballast Box to Tractor with Quick-Hitch

Prevent possible injury from tractor instability. Attach the ballast box BEFORE attaching the loader. Prevent possible injury or machine damage. Place the transmission in PARK and check the full range of the hitch for interference or binding with the ballast box. DO NOT stand between the tractor and ballast box.

  1. Lower the hitch until quick-hitch hooks are lower than ballast box pins.

  2. Back up the tractor to the ballast box.

  3. Check spring-loaded clips on the quick-hitch to be sure that latches are free and working properly.

    Make sure that latch levers (A) are down (as shown).


  4. Raise the hitch and engage ballast box pins in quick-hitch hooks. Continue to raise the ballast box and check for interference. If necessary, lower the ballast box to the ground and adjust.
