A - Shutoff Valve

Prevent possible injury from an accidental lowering of the loader. DO NOT perform service in the front of the tractor with the loader elevated unless the shutoff valve is closed, locking the loader into an elevated position. DO NOT use the shutoff valve alone to lock the loader in an elevated position for servicing the tractor. Support the loader with floor stands or lifting straps/chains connected to an overhead hoist.
  1. Raise the loader to the desired height and support the elevated loader with floor stands or lifting straps/chains connected to an overhead hoist.
  2. Engage the park brake or place the transmission in PARK.
  3. Shut off engine and remove ignition key.
  4. Turn the shutoff valve handle (A) clockwise to lock the loader in the elevated position.

Normally, access to the engine compartment and front of the tractor can be made with the bucket flat on the ground. However, due to tractor size and tire variations, it can be necessary to do one of the following:

  • If equipped with a bucket: Dump the bucket fully and lower the loader to the ground.
  • If equipped with an attachment: Raise the loader and place safety stands under the frame of the attachment. Lower the attachment on safety stands and relieve the hydraulic pressure.
  • If not equipped with an attachment: Raise the loader and place safety stands under the loader boom arms. Lower the loader on safety stands and relieve the hydraulic pressure.
