Adjust Front Axle Tread Width-Early Model Tractor
IMPORTANT:
DO NOT place jack under engine oil pan.
1.
Jack up front end of tractor.
2.
When making large tread adjustments it may be necessary to change the tie rod length (A) before or during axle adjustments. See Checking Toe-In and Adjusting Toe-In in this section for your axle type.
3.
Remove four bolts (B) and tapered pins (C) from front axle (2 on each side).
4.
Slide axle knees to desired position. Both sides should be adjusted to same spacing. Pins and bolts may have to be moved to the companion holes (D) in some settings.
5.
Reinstall axle bolts (B) and pins (C) on each side. Tighten bolts to specification.
