Change Transmission-Hydraulic Oil and Filter

1. Lower rockshaft to remove trapped oil.

NOTE: The approximate transmission case oil capacity for CollarShift and SyncShuttle™ Transmission is 38 L (10 gal), 68 L (18 gal) for Hi-Crop. The approximate transmission case oil capacity for PowrReverser™ Transmission is 42.5 L (11.5 gal), 76 L (20 gal) for Hi-Crop.

2. Remove drain plug (C) from transmission case on tractors without MFWD. Drain oil into pan and dispose of waste oil properly.

If equipped with MFWD axle, also remove drain plug (B) in drop housing.

On Hi-Crop Tractors, remove drain plug (D) from each drop axle.

3. Replace filter (A) while changing oil. Apply a film of oil to new filter gasket and install new filter. Hand-tighten only.

4. Fill system with transmission-hydraulic oil. (See Fuels, Lubricants and Coolant section.)

5. Check oil level at dipstick (E) after filling, and again after operating for five minutes.
