Replacing Air Cleaner Elements

1.
Release three clips and remove cover (A).
2.
Rotate primary element (B) counterclockwise and pull out.
3.
Clean out any dirt in canister, taking care not to damage secondary filter element.
IMPORTANT:
Remove secondary element (inner element) ONLY if it is to be replaced. Immediately install new element to prevent dust from entering air intake system.
4.
Pull out secondary element (C) if necessary.
5.
Clean out inside of cover and canister.
IMPORTANT:
DO NOT attempt to clean filter elements. They must be replaced with new elements.
6.
Inspect elements before installing. (See INSPECTING ELEMENTS in this section.)
7.
Install air cleaner elements in reverse order of removal using the following special instructions:

Wipe end seal clean before installing a new element or reinstalling a used primary element that has not reached the end of it's service interval..

Install cover with inlet "arrow" (stamped in cover) pointing down.
NOTE:
If replacing air cleaner canister, make sure that the dust unloader valve is facing down.
