Testing Coolant

1. Raise hood.

causym CAUTION: Explosive release of fluids from pressurized cooling system can cause serious burns.

Shut off engine. Only remove cap when cool enough to touch with bare hands. Slowly loosen cap to relieve pressure before removing completely.

2. Slowly turn cap (A) to relieve pressure. Remove cap.

3. Test coolant using coolant test strips available from your John Deere dealer.

4. Add 30 mL per liter (1.0 fl oz per quart) of John Deere Coolant Conditioner if needed. Drain a small amount of coolant from system if conditioner is added.

5. Install coolant recovery tank cap and lower hood.
