Start engine and move throttle lever until 1700 rpm is indicated on tachometer.
NOTE:
Do not move throttle lever after 1700 rpm is reached.
7.
Shut engine off with throttle lever positioned at 1700 rpm.
NOTE:
Make sure throttle linkage (B) does not move during the next step.
8.
Slowly push the 540/540E shift lever fully down. Make sure throttle linkage (B) does not move forward during this step. If linkage (B) moves, see step 9; if linkage (B) does not move, proceed to step 10.
9.
If linkage (B) moves forward, loosen jam nut (C) and turn adjustment nut (D) counterclockwise until a gap of 6 mm (0.25 in.) is between (A and D). Repeat steps 6, 7 and 8.
10.
Loosen jam nut (C) and turn adjustment nut (D) until seated against plate (A).
11.
Hold adjustment nut (D), using a wrench, and tighten jam nut (C).
