Using a Booster Battery or Charger
CAUTION:
Battery gas is explosive. Keep sparks and flames away from battery. Make last connection and first disconnection at a point away from booster battery.
IMPORTANT:
Be sure polarity is correct before making connections. Reversed polarity may damage electrical system or possibly cause battery to explode.
Booster Battery
IMPORTANT:
When using two or more booster batteries, batteries MUST be connected in PARALLEL. DO NOT connect batteries in SERIES.
1.
Attach red power cable to starter positive terminal (A) and positive terminal of booster battery.
2.
Attach black ground cable to negative terminal of booster battery and to a good ground (B) on the engine block.
3.
Turn key to START position.
4.
When engine starts, remove ground cable (B) first, then power cable.
Battery Charger
1.
With charger OFF, attach red positive lead to positive (+) battery terminal and negative charger lead to a good ground on the engine block, away from battery.
IMPORTANT:
DO NOT set battery charger to higher than 12 VOLTS.
2.
Switch charger ON and charge battery according to charger manufacturers instructions.
3.
Switch charger OFF. Disconnect negative charger lead first, then positive lead.
