Clean and Check Battery

CAUTION: To avoid sparks, connect negative (ground) cable last and disconnect it first.

To access battery, see procedure in Service section.

Put range shift lever in Park (P), set brakes and pull fuel shut-off knob to turn engine OFF. Wipe battery with a damp cloth. Clean and tighten connections if needed. Check fluid level in each cell, fill to bottom of filler neck with clean mineral-free water. (See Servicing Battery in Service section.)
