Before Starting the Engine
CAUTION:
Prevent asphyxiation. Engine exhaust fumes can cause sickness or death to you or someone else.
If you must operate engine in a building, be positive there is adequate ventilation. Either use an exhaust pipe extension to remove the exhaust fumes or open doors and windows to bring enough outside air into the area.
1.
Check fuel gauge to be sure tractor has plenty of fuel.
2.
Place gear shift lever (A) in park position (P) and range shift lever (B) in NEUTRAL (N) and PTO lever (C) in OFF position. Starter will not operate if gear shift lever and PTO lever are not in these positions.
3.
Place rockshaft control levers (D and E) in lowered position.
4.
Check indicator lights. Indicators should illuminate when key switch is turned to the ON position.
If any indicator does not function properly, see your John Deere dealer.
