Connecting/Operating Hydraulic Motors

Select the smallest displacement motor recommended for the function. This practice will reduce power loss and heating of hydraulic oil, especially if other functions force pump to operate at high pressure.

Operating Motors

• Ensure that all in-line control valves are wide open.
• Ensure that in-line orifices are removed.
• Close open-center bleed screw (If Equipped).

If tractor is not equipped with power beyond or auxiliary return couplers:

• Connect pressure line to SCV Retract Coupler (F).
• Connect return line to SCV Extend Coupler (E).
• Use ”special return hose tip” to prevent checking of return line and back flow if inadvertently reversed.

If tractor is equipped with auxiliary motor return:

• Connect pressure line to SCV Retract Coupler (F).
• Connect return line to Return Coupler (B).
• Special return hose tip is not required, but alright to use.

Activate motor by moving lever forward to retract detent. Adjust/set motor speed with SCV flow control. This will ensure that pump only operates at pressure required.

Shut off motor by moving lever to float. This protects motor from potential seal damage due to over pressure if returning to SCV, or cavitation if using motor return couplers.

Operating motors with power beyond

The power beyond connection requires a separate flow control valve:

• Connect pressure line to Primary Pressure Coupler (C).
• Connect return line to Return Coupler (B).
• Connect load sense line to coupler (H).

If sensed pressure is upstream of flow control valve, pump will operate at maximum pressure all the time.

If sensed pressure is between control valve and motor, pump will operate at load pressure.

Motor Case Drain

Some motors have a separate case drain line for internal leakage. Connect to sump coupler (A) to direct oil to sump.
