A - Maximum Operating Level

B - Normal Operating Range

C - Add Level

  1. Operate engine at approximately 1000 rpm for at least 1 minute.

NOTE: Oil temperature should be approximately 45 °C (113 °F). Sight glass observations will be significantly higher with hotter oil temperatures and lower with colder oil. See CommandCenter™ Performance Monitor main page to determine oil temperature.

  2. Park tractor on level ground with hitch in lowered position before checking oil level.

NOTE: Oil level will be lower with engine running or with hitch raised.

  3. Keep engine running and check oil level in sight glass on rear of tractor.

NOTE: Oil level will be at the same height on sight glass with or without optional reservoir system.

When the transmission/hydraulic oil level is at add level (C), add the recommended amount for specified transmission to reach the top of the normal operating range (B):

Road Transportation - In applications where tractor is used for mainly road transportation and light hydraulic work, adjust oil level to normal operating range (B). A lower oil level may allow tractor to operate more efficiently at transport speeds. Oil level above the maximum operating level (A) can result in power loss and heat generation during transport.

For Side-Hill Applications or High Oil Volume Requirements - Oil level should be slightly below or at maximum operating level (A).
