A - Transmission Drain Plug B - Reservoir Drain Plug C - PTO Drain Plug D - Final Drives Drain Plug
Park tractor on level surface. Lower hitch. Let engine run at idle for 1—2 minutes, then stop the engine. Move drawbar to the side so oil can drain. Remove transmission drain plug (A), reservoir drain plug (B), and PTO drain plug (C), and final drives drain plugs (D). Remove suction tube or suction screen cover (E). RXA0114347-UN-14FEB11

Transmission/Hydraulic Filter (Left Side of Tractor) E - Suction Screen Tube/Cover F - Transmission/Hydraulic Oil Filter
Remove suction screen and wash carefully in cleaning solvent. Blow dry with compressed air. Install screen and oil line making sure that gasket and O-ring are correctly positioned. Remove transmission/hydraulic oil filter (F). Lubricate new filter seal with clean hydraulic oil. Install filter until gasket contacts surface. Hand tighten additional 1/2 turn. Install drain plugs after oil has drained and tighten to required specification. | Item | Measurement | Specification | | Drain Plug | Torque | 102 N·m (75 lb-ft) |
IMPORTANT: When filling the tractor with oil. Either complete the “Adding Oil With Pump” or “Adding Oil Without Pump”. DO NOT COMPLETE BOTH PROCESSES. ADDING OIL WITHOUT PUMP - Open hydraulic oil transfer valve (I). Valve is located on the left side of tractor in front of the draft linkage.

G - Power Beyond Return Port H - Fill Tube I - Oil Transfer Valve
- Remove fill tube (H) cap and pour 19 L (20 qt) of hydraulic oil (see Fuel, Lubricants, and Coolant Section) into fill tube.
- Observe oil level in sight glass. Wait until oil level drains below bottom of sight glass, then add an additional 19 L (20 qt) into fill tube. Repeat as necessary until the oil level in the sight glass does not drain below view.
- Close oil transfer valve (I).
IMPORTANT: To prevent damage to tractor, oil must be visible in sight glass when oil transfer valve is closed before starting tractor. - Add additional 90 L (95 qt) of hydraulic oil into fill tube (H).
ADDING OIL WITH PUMP
Start and leave engine at slow idle for 5 minutes. Check oil level in sight glass. With tractor idling, slowly add oil to tractor fill tube (H). Observe oil level rising in sight glass. There will be a slight delay between adding oil and the time it shows up in oil level sight glass. Top up oil level according to oil level sight glass. (See Specifications in the Specification Section for hydraulic oil capacities.)

PowrQuad™ PLUS, AutoQuad™ PLUS, and CommandQuad Transmissions A - Maximum Operating Level B - Normal Operating Range C - Add Level When the transmission/hydraulic oil level is at add level (C), add the recommended amount for specified transmission to reach the top of the normal operating range (B):| Item | Measurement | Specification | | IVT / AutoPowr Transmission | Volume | 13 L (14 qt) | | PowrQuad PLUS, AutoQuad PLUS, and CommandQuad Transmissions | Volume | 8 L (8.5 qt) |
Road Transportation - In applications where tractor is used for mainly road transportation and light hydraulic work, adjust oil level to normal operating range (B). A lower oil level may allow tractor to operate more efficiently at transport speeds. Oil level above the maximum operating level (A) can result in power loss and heat generation during transport. For Side-Hill Applications or High Oil Volume Requirements - Oil level should be slightly below or at maximum operating level (A). IVT is a trademark of Deere & Company
