Changing MFWD Wheel Hub Oil

A - Drain/Fill Hole

1. Park tractor on level surface.

2. Rotate wheel until drain/fill hole (A) is at bottom of hub. Remove plug and drain oil.

3. Rotate wheel with drain/fill plug positioned horizontally after oil has drained.

4. Add lubricant as specified in MFWD Axle Housing and Wheel Hub Oil in the Fuel, Lubricants, and Coolant section, through drain/fill hole until lubricant is even with the bottom of the drain/fill hole (A).

   IMPORTANT: Wheel hubs that contain brakes are filled with John Deere™ Hy-Gard™ .

   Wheel hubs that do not contain brakes are filled with GL-5 Gear Lubricant.

5. Install the plug and O-ring and tighten to specifications.
