Oil Viscosities for Air Temperature Ranges
To confirm which engine your tractor is equipped with, see Record
Engine Serial Number in Identification Numbers section of this Operator’s
Manual.
Use oil viscosity based on the expected air temperature range
during the period between oil changes.
John Deere Plus-50 II is the recommended engine oil.
Extended service intervals may apply when John Deere Plus-50 II engine oil is
used. Refer to the engine oil drain interval table and consult your
John Deere dealer for more information.
If John Deere Plus-50 II engine oil is not available, engine oil meeting one or more of
the following may be used:

API Service Category CJ-4
-
ACEA Oil Sequence E9
-
ACEA Oil Sequence E6
DO NOT use engine oil containing more than 1.0% sulfated ash,
0.12% phosphorus, or 0.4% sulfur.
Multi-viscosity diesel engine oils are preferred.
Diesel fuel quality and fuel sulfur content must comply with
all existing emissions regulations for the area in which the engine
operates.
IMPORTANT: Use only ultra low sulfur diesel (ULSD) fuel with
a maximum sulfur content of 15 mg/kg (15 ppm).
