A - Single Point Ground (SPG) (-) Cable
Disconnect the Single Point Ground (SPG) (-) cable (A), on
left side of engine, from tractor frame before servicing batteries.

SERVICE INTERVAL — ANNUALLY
|
NOTE: Factory installed batteries are maintenance free and require
no additional service. However in certain conditions such
as long periods of operation at high ambient temperatures or excessive
engine cranking, may require adding water. See label on battery.
CAUTION: Never use compressed air to clean batteries. It can
cause a build up of static charge leading to potential injury. Battery gas can explode. Keep sparks and flames away from batteries.
Use a flashlight to check battery electrolyte level.
Never check battery charge by placing a metal object across
the posts. Use a voltmeter, load tester or hydrometer.
Always remove battery ground cable (A) first and connect it
last. Do not let disconnected ground terminal touch metal surface.
WARNING: Battery posts, terminals,
and related accessories contain lead and lead compounds, chemicals
known to the State of California to cause cancer and reproductive
harm. Wash hands after handling.

B - Positive Battery Terminals
C - Negative Battery Terminals
Avoid contact with poisonous sulfuric acid in battery electrolyte.
Battery acid can burn skin, damage clothing, and cause blindness if
splashed into eyes.

Pull battery box latch (A) out to release top cover.

Lift cover to access batteries.

Disconnect negative terminals (C) from batteries.

Disconnect positive terminals (B) from batteries.

Clean terminals and battery posts using a baking soda and water
solution.

Remove any corrosion with a terminal brush.

Rinse with clean water and air dry.

Connect positive battery cables and apply thin coating of grease.

Connect negative battery cables and apply thing coating of grease.

Close battery box cover.

Connect negative cable to tractor frame.
NOTE: Keep all battery terminals (B) and (C) clean and tight. For replacement batteries follow manufacturer's recommendations.
