A - Positive Terminal

B - Negative Terminal

Gas given off by batteries is explosive. Keep sparks and flames away from batteries. Before connecting or disconnecting a battery charger, turn charger OFF. Make last connection and first disconnection at a point away from batteries.

IMPORTANT: Be sure polarity is correct before making connections. Reversed polarity will damage electrical system and can cause battery to explode.

If two or more booster batteries are used, they must be connected in parallel ensuring booster batteries are producing a 12 volt charge.

Avoid possible injury or death from machinery runaway.

Do not start engine by shorting across starter terminals. Machine will start in gear if normal circuitry is bypassed.

NEVER start engine while standing on ground. Start engine only from operator’s seat, with transmission in neutral or park.

Booster Battery

  1. Remove starter positive terminal cap (A) and attach (red) cable end to starter terminal. Attach other end of (red) cable to the booster battery positive terminal.

  2. Attach one end of (black) cable to negative terminal of booster battery. Attach other end of the (black) cable to battery ground (B) at tractor frame.

  3. Remove the ground cable (B) first when disconnecting battery cables.

Battery Charger

  1. Remove starter positive terminal cap (A) and attach (red) positive charger lead to positive terminal with charger in OFF position. Attach negative charger lead to negative (black) ground (B) at tractor frame, away from batteries.

  2. Switch charger to ON position and charge battery according to charger manufacturers instructions.

  3. Switch charger to OFF position. Remove negative charger lead first, then positive lead.
