Removing Tractor from Storage

NOTE: Hydraulic oil may drain into the transmission and indicate a low reservoir oil level, when system is actually full.

Perform the following steps to remove tractor from storage:

  1. Remove any coverings placed in or on tractor while preparing for storage
  2. Unseal all openings sealed prior to storage
  3. Remove any accumulated trash or debris since put into storage, especially areas around the engine and chassis.
  4. Rotate A/C compressor pulley several turns
  5. Install auxiliary drive belts on air conditioner pulley and fan pulley
  6. Check all fluid levels
  7. Inspect tires and check tire inflation pressures. (See Wheels, Tires and Treads Section)
  8. Fill the fuel tank
  9. Install batteries and connect cables
  10. Perform all services for daily, 10 , 250 and 500 Hour Interval—(See Lubrication And Maintenance Sections)
  11. Check all instruments and indicators by turning key to the ON position
  12. IMPORTANT: Removing F24 fuse will allow engine to turn over without starting. Performing this step will allow engine oil to be circulated before actually starting engine.

Remove ECU fuse F24 to prevent engine from starting
  13. Crank the engine a few revolutions
  14. Reinstall ECU fuse F24
  15. IMPORTANT: DO NOT operate the starter for more than 30 seconds. Wait at least two minutes for starter to cool before trying again.

    Start engine
  16. Operate engine at slow idle for several minutes
  17. IMPORTANT: If air conditioning compressor is locked up, engine operation with compressor clutch engaged will damage belt or compressor.

    Check air conditioning
  18. Check all other system functions
  19. Warm up tractor before putting engine under load
