Stopping the Engine

IMPORTANT: Before stopping engine that has been operating at working load, idle engine at least 1 or 2 minutes at 1000—1200 rpm to cool hot engine parts. If an Exhaust Filter Cleaning has just been performed, increase engine idle time to 4 minutes. If service work is going to be performed on Exhaust Filter, increase engine idle time to 10 minutes. Allow additional time for the engine to cool.

  1. Stop tractor and pull throttle back to slow idle position.

  2. Depress clutch and brake pedals.

  3. Put transmission in PARK position.

  4. Lower all equipment to the ground.

  5. Make sure SCV levers are in NEUTRAL position.

  6. Make sure PTO switch is disengaged, if equipped. Pull PTO clutch lever rearward (away from engine) to disengage clutch.

  7. CAUTION: Remove ignition switch key to prevent accidents.

Turn ignition key to OFF position and remove key.
