Inspect Fan Belt and Fan Belt Tensioner

1.

   A - Hood Release Loop

   B - Side Shield Latches

   C - Cap Screw

   D - Fan Drive Connector

   Pull hood release loop (A) and raise hood.

2. Depress side shield latches (B) and remove both front and rear side shields.

3. Remove cap screw (C) and disconnect fan drive connector (D).

   Remove cap screw (A) and disconnect fan drive connector (B).

5. NOTE: Fan drive belt is equipped with an automatic tensioner which does not require adjustment.

   A - 1/2 in. Drive Breaker Bar

   B - Tensioner Pully

   Release tension on belt using 1/2 in. drive breaker bar (A) on tensioner pulley (B).

6. Remove belt.

7. Inspect parts and replace as necessary.

   Check Tension Specification

   A - Mark on Tensioner Arm

   B - Mark on Mounting Bracket

   Measure 21 mm (13/16 in.) from mark on tensioner arm (A) and put mark (B) on mounting bracket.

9. Rotate tension arm with torque wrench until marks (A and B) align together. If torque wrench measurement is not within specification, replace tensioner mechanism.

    Inspect fan velt for cracks, damage, or excessive wear. Replace if necessary. See Replace Fan Belt in As Required section of this Operator’s Manual.

11. Install belt according to fan belt layout diagram.

12. NOTE: Fan drive belt is equipped with an automatic tensioner which does not require adjustment.

    B - Tensioner Pully

    Release tension using 1/2 in. drive breaker bar (A) on tensioner pulley (B) and install belt around tensioner.

    B - Fan Drive Connector

    Connect fan drive connector (B) and install clamp cap screw (A). Tighten to specification.

15. Lower hood.
