Transmission and Hydraulic Oil

To ensure proper shift quality, an oil meeting HY-GARD or JDM J20C specifications must be used.
Shift quality problems and/or drivetrain damage may occur if the HY-GARD or JDM J20C specifications are not followed.
Your tractor’s transmission/axle and hydraulic reservoir is factory filled with John Deere Hy-Gard JDM J20C™ oil.
Use oil viscosity based on the expected air temperature range during the period between oil changes.
The following oils are preferred:
- John DeereHY-GARD®
- John Deere Low Viscosity *HY-GARD®
Other oils may be used if they meet one of the following:
- John Deere™ Standard JDM J20C
Use John DeereBIO-HY-GARD™ oil when a biodegradable fluid is required.1

BIO-HY-GARD should not be mixed with mineral oils, because this reduces the biodegradability and makes proper oil recycling impossible. |
