Adjust Front Axle Tread Width

IMPORTANT: DO NOT place jack under engine oil pan.

1. Jack up front end of tractor.

2. When making large tread adjustments, loosen cap screw(s) (E) and adjust the tie rod (A) length with axle length.

3. Axle with Adjustable Steering Cylinder only: It may also be necessary to adjust steering cylinder position, see Steering Cylinder Adjustment in this procedure.

4. Remove two nuts (B), sleeves (D) (if equipped), and cap screws (C) from front axle (2 on each side).

5. Slide axle knees to desired position. Both sides should be adjusted to same spacing.

6. Install sleeves (if equipped), cap screws and nuts on each side. Tighten cap screws to specification.

Specification

Front Axle Cap Screws -Torque 480 N·m (350 lb-ft)

7. Set toe-in. See Check and Adjust Toe-In for your axle type.

Steering Cylinder Adjustment (Axle with Adjustable Steering Cylinder Only)

1. Remove nut (A) and cap screw (B).

2. Align steering cylinder with correct mounting hole (C).

3. Install cap screw and nut. Tighten to specification.
