Start engine and move throttle lever until 1700 rpm is indicated on tachometer.
NOTE:
Do not move throttle lever after 1700 rpm is reached.
7.
Shut engine off with throttle lever positioned at 1700 rpm.
NOTE:
Make sure throttle linkage (D) at fuel injection pump does not move during the next step.
8.
Slowly move the PTO 540/540E speed shift lever fully forward. Make sure throttle linkage (D) does not move forward during this step. If linkage (D) moves see step (9), if linkage (D) does not move proceed to step (10).
9.
If linkage (D) moves forward: Loosen jam nut (C) and turn adjustment nut (B) counterclockwise until a gap of 6 mm (0.25 in.) is between (A and B). Repeat steps (6, 7 and 8).
10.
Loosen jam nut (C) and turn adjustment nut (B) until seated against plate (A).
11.
Hold adjustment nut (B) using a wrench and tighten jam nut (C).
