Adjust 540E PTO Throttle Limiter-Cab

2. Disconnect yoke (C) from arm (B).

3. Shift arm (B) to the rearward position.

4. Move PTO 540/540E speed shift lever (D) to the rearward position.

5. Loosen jam nut from yoke. Adjust yoke (C) until spring locking pin (A) aligns with hole in yoke (C) and arm (B). Install spring locking pin and tighten jam nut to yoke.

NOTE: Do not move throttle lever after 1700 rpm is reached.

7. Shut engine off with throttle lever positioned at 1700 rpm.

NOTE: Make sure throttle linkage (D) at fuel injection pump does not move during the next step.

8. Slowly move the PTO 540/540E speed shift lever fully forward. Make sure throttle linkage (D) does not move forward during this step. If linkage (D) moves see step (9), if linkage (D) does not move proceed to step (10).

9. If linkage (D) moves forward: Loosen jam nut (C) and turn adjustment nut (B) counterclockwise until a gap of 6 mm (0.25 in.) is between (A and B). Repeat steps (6, 7 and 8).

10. Loosen jam nut (C) and turn adjustment nut (B) until seated against plate (A).

11. Hold adjustment nut (B) using a wrench and tighten jam nut (C).
