Idling the Engine

Engine idle speed can be set above low idle for operating accessories while vehicle is parked. A fast idle switch may be provided on vehicle dash. If equipped, bump switch in upward direction to set to fast idle speed, and bump switch in downward direction to disengage fast idle.

NOTE: On vehicles equipped with electronic transmissions, the transmission will not go into gear if the engine is at high idle.
