Installation of Single Stage Air Cleaner

B - Filter to Engine Overlap

IMPORTANT: ALWAYS REPLACE air cleaner when air filter restriction indicator shows a vacuum of 625 mm (25 in.) H₂O, is torn, or visibly dirty.

NOTE: This procedure applies to John Deere single stage air cleaner kits. Refer to manufacturers' instructions for servicing air cleaners not supplied by John Deere.

1. If equipped, loosen body clamp.

2. Loosen clamp around outlet neck (A).

3. Remove air cleaner.

4. Install new filter so that overlap (B) of air cleaner outlet neck and engine intake pipe is to specification below.

   Item	Measurement	Specification
   Air Cleaner Neck to Engine Intake	Overlap	38 mm (1.5 in.)

5. Tighten neck clamp (A) to specification below.

   Item	Measurement	Specification
   Air Cleaner Neck Clamp	Torque	6.8 N·m (60 lb.-in.)

6. IMPORTANT: Do NOT overtighten body clamp. Overtightening may cause crushing of air cleaner body. Tighten body clamp only until snug.

   If equipped, tighten body clamp until snug.

7. IMPORTANT: Whenever the air cleaner has been serviced or removed, ALWAYS fully depress the air filter restriction indicator reset button (if equipped) to assure accurate readings.

   If equipped, fully depress air filter restriction indicator reset button (A) and release to reset indicator.
