Re-Torque Intake and Exhaust Manifold Cap Screws and Nuts

A - Intake Manifold Cap Screws

B - Exhaust Manifold Nuts


IMPORTANT: During break-in, re-torque intake/exhaust manifold cap screws and nuts after first 2500 miles of new engine operation or replacement of manifold.

After break-in, for school buses, re-torque the intake and exhaust manifolds every 12 months/25,000 miles. For refuse trucks/transit buses, re-torque the intake and exhaust manifolds every 12 months/12,500 miles.

  1. Remove exhaust manifold heat shield.

  2. Tighten intake manifold cap screws (A) to specification.

  3. Tighten exhaust manifold nuts (B) to specification.
