Testing Safety Systems

Check safety systems installed on your machine monthly, after servicing, or when a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) occurs. Read the machine operator manual and be familiar with the operation of the machine before performing listed safety system checks.

Check for normal operation of machine by using the following checkout procedures.

Do not operate machine if there is a malfunction during one of these procedures See your authorized dealer for service.

Perform these tests in a clear open area. Keep bystanders away.

Testing Stop Button Function

  1. Push main switch to OFF position.

  2. Position mower within boundary wire area.

  3. Push main switch to ON position.

  4. Start mower operation in Mow Now Mode.

  5. When the mower starts moving, push down on the Stop button.

Result: The mower and blade stop. The Run LED light flashes green.

If the mower or the blades continue to run see your dealer for service.

Testing Handle Presence Function

  1. Push main switch to OFF position.

  2. Position mower within boundary wire area.

  3. Push main switch to ON position.

  4. Start mower operation in Mow Now Mode.

  5. After the mower is moving and the blade starts, grasp the mower handle for at least five seconds without lifting the mower from the ground.

Result: The mower and the blade stop. The user interface display shows fault code information.

If the mower drives or blade continues to operate, immediately turn the main power switch OFF. See your dealer for service.

Caster Wheels

  1. Push main switch to OFF position.

  2. Lift front of mower. Make sure that caster wheel spindles drop freely in bushings.

Result: Caster wheels move freely in and out.
