INITIAL — 300 HOURS Maximum

REGULAR — 300 HOURS Can be extended
to 500 Hours if John Deere Plus-50 oil and John Deere filter are used.

IMPORTANT: During the first 300 hours of operation, fill with
John Deere Plus-50 oil. (See section 85 Fuel, Lubricants, and Coolant for oil specifications.) If diesel fuel has a high sulfur content, refer to DIESEL ENGINE
OIL in section 85 Fuel, Lubricants, and Coolant.

Operate engine to warm oil.

PARK tractor on level ground and SHUT OFF engine. Remove key.

Remove oil drain plug (A) and drain oil.

Open hood and remove engine oil filter (B).
IMPORTANT: Clean area around filler to prevent dirt from entering
the system.
NOTE: Make sure that old filter gasket is removed from manifold
before installing new filter.

Apply a film of oil on new oil filter gasket and install new
filter. Hand-tighten plus 1/2 turn.

Install drain plug (A).

Add oil to filler (C) (See Diesel Engine Oil in section 85 Fuel,
Lubricants, and Coolant.) and lower hood.

Start engine and keep running for some time.

SHUT OFF engine.

Check drain plug (A) and filter for leaks.
NOTE: If oil leaks in excess see your John Deere dealer.

Recheck oil level, add if necessary.

Lower hood.
