Replace Fan Belt—5065M and 5075M

  1. NOTE: Fan drive belt is equipped with an automatic tensioner which does not require adjustment.

    PARK tractor on level ground and SHUT OFF engine. Remove key.

  2. Remove cap screws (A), two from bottom and one from left side of right fan guard.

  3. Remove cap screw (B) from right wire-formed fan guard.

    Remove cap screws (A) from bottom of left fan guard.



  5. Loosen cap screw (B) from left fan guard.

  6. Remove cap screw (C) from left wire-formed fan guard.

    B - Square Hole

    Using a 3/8 in. drive breaker bar inserted in square hole (B) of tensioner, push tensioner in towards engine and release tension on fan belt (A). Remove fan belt from alternator pulley.



  8. Release tension on tensioner and remove breaker bar.

  9. Remove belt.

  10. Install new belt in reverse order of removal.

  11. Use breaker bar to push tensioner into position for belt installation. (Refer to Inspect Fan Belt Tensioner—5065M and 5075M in this Section.)

  12. Install left and right fan guards in reverse order of removal.
