Use Liquid Weight
RW25003-UN-07JUL93
CAUTION: Installing liquid ballast requires special equipment
and training. Have the job done by your John Deere dealer or a tire
service store.
IMPORTANT: NEVER fill tire to more than 75 percent full. More
solution would leave too little air space to absorb shocks. Damage
to tire could occur.
A solution of water and calcium chloride provides safe, economical
ballast. Used properly, it will not damage tires, tubes, or rims.
Use calcium chloride to prevent water from the freezing. A mixture
of 0.4 kg per liter (3.5 lb of calcium chloride per gal) will not
freeze solid above —45°C (—50°F).
NOTE: Use of alcohol as liquid ballast is not recommended. Calcium
chloride solution is heavier and more economical.
Fill tubeless tires slightly above the valve level (minimum
75 percent full). Less solution would expose part of rim, possibly
causing corrosion. Tube-type tires may be filled to any level below
75 percent.
Charts on this page show how much each tire size holds if filled
to 75 percent full.
