Bleed Fuel System
IMPORTANT: Any time the fuel system has been opened up for service
(lines disconnected or filters removed), it will be necessary to bleed
air from the system.
NOTE: A second person will be needed for the following procedure.

Rotary Pump

Inline Pump
A - Bleed Vent Screw
B - Hand Primer
Open bleed vent screw (A).
-
Pump hand primer (B) until fuel runs out smoothly without spiting.
-
When no air bubbles are seen close vent screw.
-
Pump the hand primer until resistance is felt.
-
Repeat until no air bubbles flow from vent screw.

A - Fuel Return Line
B - Bleed Screw
C - Hand Primer
Loosen fuel return line (A) at fuel injection pump.

Loosen injection pump bleed screw (B).
-
When no air bubbles are seen tighten fuel return line (A) and
bleed screw (B).
-
Pump the hand primer (C) resistance is felt.
-
Repeat until no air bubbles flow from fuel return line.

Loosen injection pump bleed screw (B).

When no air bubbles are seen tighten fuel return line (A) and
bleed screw (B).

Pump the hand primer (C) resistance is felt.

Repeat until no air bubbles flow from fuel return line.
