Remove and Install Battery

1. CAUTION: Keep all sparks and flames away from batteries, as gas given off by electrolyte is explosive. To avoid sparks, connect ground cable last and disconnect it first.

   To avoid shocks and burns, disconnect battery ground cable before servicing any part of electrical system.

   A - Hood Latch

   B - Hood

   C - Negative (—) Battery Terminal

   D - Positive (+) Battery Terminal

   E - Nut

   F - Nut

   G - Clamp

   H - Battery

   Pull hood latch release (A) out to unlock hood. Raise hood (B).

2. Disconnect negative (—) terminal (C) first, then positive (+) terminal (D).

3. Loosen nuts (E and F) securing battery hold-down and remove the clamp (G).

4. Lift the battery from the battery tray.
