Use Booster Battery

CAUTION: Battery gas is explosive. Keep sparks and flames away
from battery. Make the last connection and first disconnection at
a point away from booster batteries.
IMPORTANT: Be sure that polarity is correct before making connections.
Reversed polarity can damage electrical system or possibly cause battery
to explode. When using two or more booster batteries,
batteries must be connected in PARALLEL. DO NOT connect batteries
in SERIES.
Booster Battery

Access battery. (See procedure in Maintenance—Electrical System
section.)

A - Vehicle Battery Positive (+) Post
B - Engine Ground
C - Booster Battery Negative (—) Post
D - Booster Battery Positive (+) Post
E - Vehicle Battery
F - Booster Battery
Connect red positive (+) booster cable to the booster battery
positive (+) post (D) of the booster battery (F).

Connect other end of positive (+) booster cable to vehicle battery
positive (+) post (A) of the vehicle battery (E).

Connect black negative (—) booster cable to booster battery
negative (—) post (C) of the booster battery (F).

Connect other end of negative (—) booster cable to engine ground
(B), away from the battery and starter.

Turn key to START position.

When engine starts, remove negative (—) cable first, then positive
(+) cable.
Battery Charger

With charger OFF, attach red positive lead to positive (+) battery
terminal and negative charger lead to a good ground on the engine
block, away from battery.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT set battery charger to higher than 12 Volts. Avoid damage! Electric charge from the booster battery can damage
machine components. Do not connect negative booster cable to the machine
frame. Connect only to the engine block.
Install negative booster cable away from moving parts in the
engine compartment, such as belts and fan blades
Switch charger ON and charge battery according to charger manufacturer
instructions.

Switch charger OFF. Disconnect negative charger lead first,
then positive lead.
