Checking and Cleaning Fuel Filter Sediment Bowl and Replacing
Filters
CAUTION: Avoid injury! Fuel vapors are explosive and flammable:

Do not smoke while handling fuel.

Keep fuel away from flames or sparks.
-
Shut off engine before servicing.
-
Cool engine before servicing.
-
Work in a well-ventilated area.
-
Clean up spilled fuel immediately.
Checking Sediment Bowl
-
Park machine safely. Allow engine to cool.
-
Check fuel sediment bowl. If water and deposits are detected,
drain water.
-
Place drain pan under sediment bowl.
-
Turn drain valve to open position.
-
Drain water until the orange indicator ring reseats back on
the bottom of bowl.
-
Turn drain valve to closed position.

Move the fuel shutoff valve (A) to closed position.
-
Position drain pan under fuel filter sediment bowl.

Turn sediment bowl counterclockwise to remove.

Clean the filter screen and bowl.
-
Install sediment bowl.
-
Open fuel shutoff valve (A).
-
NOTE: Fuel system is self-bleeding.
Turn key to the ON position for 10—15 seconds before attempting
to start, electric pump purges air from sediment bowl.
Replacing Fuel Filter
-
Park machine safely. Allow engine to cool.
-
Close fuel shutoff valve (A).
-
Position drain pan under primary fuel filter (C) and secondary
fuel filter (B) to catch fuel spillage.
-
Turn primary fuel filter (C) and secondary fuel filter (B) counterclockwise
to remove and discard.
-
Apply fuel to surface of new filters gasket.
-
Install new primary fuel filter (C) and secondary fuel filter
(B) to filter head. Tighten by one complete turn after filter contacts
head.

Open fuel shutoff valve (A).
