Important Recommendations Concerning the Battery

CQ171990-UN-08FEB07
Preferably use the parallel charging method.
Use a charger with a final voltage of 16 volts fitted with a
voltmeter with a precision of 1%.
Follow the instructions of the charger manufacturer. At the
start, the availability of current might not be enough to hold 16
volts, but this voltage should be reached in the end to ensure sufficient
recharge.
If the battery charge level in extremely low, it may take a
lot of time for it to take the charge current. Periodically check
for high temperatures, electrolyte leaks or excessive gas formation.
Reduce or interrupt recharging until the temperature falls.
The maximum temperature recommended for the electrolyte is 52°C
(125.6°F).
At the end of the charging procedure, the battery will show
a green test indicator. If the test indicator is still dark, check
whether the electrical connections are clean and adequate and then
repeat the charging procedure. If the green dot still does not appear,
replace the battery.
The charging area must be well ventilated.
Please observe all the safety recommendations.
