Adjusting 4x4 Front Tread with Reversible Rims
4 x 4 front axle tread with reversible rims can be adjusted
repositioning or changing the rims or inverting wheel disks.
Tread can also be adjusted switching the whole wheel to opposite
side of tractor. (This maneuver allows a concave to convex wheel position
change without having to disassemble them).
When changing rear wheels from one side to the other of front
axle with front-wheel drive, the arrow on the tire must be pointing
in direction of forward travel.
The relation between wheel disk and rim with different treads
is illustrated on the following page.
Carefully study diagrams before changing tread as this will
reduce effort when performing this task.
IMPORTANT: After adjusting space between front wheels, tighten
nuts between disk and rim and between disk and hub. Drive tractor
about 100 meters (328.1 ft) and retighten nuts to specification.
| Item | Measurement | Specification |
|
Disk-to-hub | Torque | 310 N.m (229 lb-ft) |
|
Rim-to-disk | Torque | 245 Nm (180 lb-ft) |
IMPORTANT: Bolts must be mounted on outside face of wheel.
NOTE: Tread adjustment is measured at the lower part of the
center line.
