Pressurized fluid, when released, can penetrate skin causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Tighten all connections before applying pressure. Search for leaks using a piece of cardboard. Protect hands and body from high pressure fluids.

If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately. Any fluid injected into the skin must be surgically removed within a few hours or gangrene may result. Doctors unfamiliar with this type of injury should consult a knowledgeable medical source. Such information is available from the Deere & Company medical department in Moline, Illinois, U.S.A.

IMPORTANT: Each time the fuel system is opened for servicing (lines disconnected or filters removed) it is necessary to bleed the system.

IMPORTANT: To prevent damage to the injection pump, DO NOT try to start the engine while bleeding the fuel system.

  1. Unfasten fuel return line (A).
  2. Actuate manual pump.
  3. When fuel flow is free of bubbles, tighten fuel return line. Release manual pump and spring will return to normal position automatically.
