A - Toe-In Spacing MFWD

  1. Disengage front-wheel drive and park tractor on a plain and level surface. Straighten front wheels. Shut off engine.

  2. Measure distance between tire center line (A) at hub height, in front of axle (using inner or outer edge of tire profile). Write down measurement and mark tires.

  3. Back-up for approximately 1m (3 ft); now the mark is at hub level behind the axle. Measure again the distance between tires at the mark. Write down measurements.

  4. Determine the difference between front and rear measurements. If front measurement is smaller, there is toe-in. If rear measurement is smaller, wheels are diverging and there is no toe-in. The difference between the two measurements (convergence or divergence) must be less than 3 mm (1/8 in.). Adjust toe-in, if necessary. (Consult procedure in this section.)
