Checking Neutral Start System

Your John Deere tractor uses a safety system to prevent unexpected
movement when starting engine. On turning key switch, engine will
turn only if the following conditions are met:
-
Gearshift lever (B) should be in "P"or in "Neutral".

PTO lever (A) should be disengaged.
CAUTION: If starter motor turns engine in one of the following
steps, consult a John Deere dealership to repair the starting system
in neutral position.
When key switch is turned to start, the engine should not start
in the following conditions:
-
Gearshift lever (B) is in gear (not in park or in neutral).
-
PTO lever (A) is engage position.
