Power Hop
Tractor jumps during operation
Power hop effect occurs when ballast on tractor and operating
speed provide oscillating power feed.
To remedy this inconvenient condition, the front or rear weight
of the tractor must be adjusted. To do this, carry out the following
procedure, testing each modification.
-
Inflate tires to specified minimum air pressures for load type.
-
Increase pressure in front tires in jumps of two lb/pol2 , to a maximum of eight.
-
Remove any liquid ballast from rear wheels.
-
Add solid ballast to rear wheels.
-
Add liquid ballast to front wheels.
After each ballasting modification, test the tractor.
Repeat the above-stated steps until problem ceases.
